Oh man… Finally, after try with several LCD monitors, that I end selling them, a LCD monitor with black very blacky, indeed. Nothing to envy to my FLAT 480 CRT TV, black is not perfect but it is very close to be it. White are white, very bright.

A warning, there is a mode (by default) that when the screen goes black, all the LEDS goes black as well, and that’s very annoying, because small white areas just looks gray. TURNING IT OFF its put brightness and contrast at 100% (you can’t change brightness and contrast), but if you want to change that (you don’t have to anyway), you can use the colors settings, all the colors at the same value.

    What comes in the box:

    > the monitor of course, a stereo jack cable, a VGA cable, a DVI cable, a power cable, CD with trash and drivers, and instruction manual

    Whats good:

    > Black blacky, White whity. > the base can move up and down, > View angle is near perfection, > place to hold cables hidden to viewers > glossy black finish very beautiful > No sickness, no dizzy, it’s LED light you can’t get tired like in a standar fluorescent light THAT’S A VERY BIG POINT FOR ME, light is quasi-constant > Only 15 W of power consumption, no mercury > Good smooth of pixels at not native resolutions (native is 1440x900px) > settings are save it for every resolution, like position and size :) yesss !! > PRICE !!

    Whats bad:

    > no hdmi input, > Power button is hard to press compared with others buttons > Stupid automatic led bright mode (make small white areas gray when there is a lot of black), fortunelly you can turn it off

I bought this monitor to replace an old ViewSonic CRT so I could gain some desk space, gain some resolution and reduce my energy usage, all of which this monitor does well for me. The pictures of it here on Amazon show that there is a hideous gray ring around the outside of the monitor, the one that was sent to me is all black, so that’s a huge plus. The VESA mount is also a big plus as I will be using it very soon. I do have some dislikes though: The stand is a bit high and has no height adjustment and the screen is a bit bright but seems to lose some picture quality when the brightness is turned down, the picture is still quite good though. I don’t use the speakers and don’t see the need for a monitor to have them, but they are there. Overall I like the performance of the monitor and think it’s a great performer for the price.

My title really says it all. Just a couple of other things. When my desktop loaded, my jaw literally fell open. The beautiful scene of a stream running through the moutains was breath taking. The native 1400/900 resolution make the picture so sharp that it looked 3D.

The IE browser fit the screen perfect. No scroll sliding bar at the bottom to see all the screen.

Works flawlessly. Very bright even in well lite room. Not using the built in speakers so I cannot comment on that.

I caught it just 2 days before he price went up 10 dollars. But even at the higher price, I would have still got it. Love that it has the newer LED back lighting.

You will not regret choosing this model over other 19″ ones.

I haven’t had this monitor for long, maybe a month, but so far so good. It always takes me a long time before I decide just what model of something I will buy. I chose this one based on size (not too big but bigger than my 15-inch, since my desk area is small); the claims that it is energy-efficient; how it looks; the fact that the speakers are built in (I don’t listen to my music via the computer so don’t need great speakers); and of course, lower price. I don’t have any major complaints with it, but there is one odd thing that I would not think would be related to a new monitor: it takes a long time for my screen to appear after I turn it on. It also seems that my pages run much slower since I hooked up this monitor. It could be completely unrelated and just a coincidence. But I do wish the screen lit up quicker. Maybe that’s where the energy efficiency comes in! No matter, I am happy with it other than that, and if it saves energy and money on my electric bill, I’ll accept the slow startup.
