RE: this penny cable working with the PRE… I disagree….. I am running Windows 7 and not sure if that factors, but this cable pretty much drives windows plug n play USB bat $h1t. Ding doing doing ding, ding doing doing ding…… did not show up in sys tray for ejecting so I unplugged… plugged back in and this time it asked if I wanted to charge, sync etc…. (sometimes it asks other times no…..) so I say lets trys USB drive…. so it finds it and windows 7 says this drive looks like it has corrupt files, you want me to scan and fix it? So I ask you, is your pre worth more than a penny for a cheap ass cable? How much time have you put into tweaking your pre just the way you want it? I think palm has a point about 3rd party cables. Run away from this cheap sillyness.

I purchased the Palm Pre for my son & myself the day it hit the Sprint Stores, but they didn’t have all the extra accesories that I must have for the Pre. I found the Palm Pre (Sprint) Smartphone USB Data Cable/Charging Cable on Amazon.com for a very GOOD price. I LOVE My High Tech Toys, but I don’t want to pay a High price for the accesories that make them better.

I bought 2 of these and they work just fine. The hood on the connector for the phone is a bit large and cheap. I broke the hood on the first one, but that was my fault for swinging it around, but the second one has started to break as well, so I’ll be throwing some super glue on it to keep things together. Overall this is worth the money though.

I may have been able to give this product a thorough review had I actually received the right product. I will never order from this company again! They even wanted me to pay the postage to ship the items back to them. I don’t think so. Just spend the extra money and get the real thing!

Yes it was an inexpensive cable. But the small USB end is “loose” and now does not function less than a month after purchase. AVOID THIS JUNK!
