HP 2159M 21.5-Inch HD LCD Monitor
One reviewer, M. Gunderson “Electronics geek,” says this computer has the capability to be pivoted and used in portrait/vertical position although they “haven’t tried it yet.” I cannot find anywhere in the technical details on Amazon or HP.com that this computer can be used in portrait orientation. Can anyone who has this computer confirm whether or not it has this capability? (Please disregard the star rating I provided; a rating was required in order to send this).

The monitor is really nice. My only complaint is regarding the connection cable. I have a laptop with only vga out. This monitor came with DVI cable. It was an inconvenience to buy a VGA cable from PC Liquidators for $5. If you try to buy from bestbuy its $29 and other online shops would ship it for $12. But the bottom line is you will have to wait for about a week before you can use this monitor.

This monitor was great within the warranty period. It was broken right after a year. Don’t buy this if you want to use for a long time.

Over the last three months I purchased a total of three of these monitors. They have built-in speakers that eliminate the need to have speakers sitting on your desk. Anyone who still is using a CRT monitor will be extremely happy with this replacement.

I will have to say, this is a great monitor. I bought this monitor to go with my new HP-150t desktop computer. I had an older sony LCD monitor which I liked but it was not an HD monitor and my new computer had an HD output so I thought I would go with a matching monitor. My Sony monitor was the older 4×3 aspect ratio and the HP 2159 is the new 16×9 aspect ratio. At first, I didn’t like the wide-screen thing when I visited websites as many of them are not set up for wide screen display. It took me a few weeks to get used to it, but now I love the extra space I get on my desktop. This monitor is real plug and play. It has not given me any problems, the display is fantastic. I wish I had sprung for the desktop with a TV tuner but I figured I did not want to sit in front of a PC monitor to watch HD TV and I have a 46-inch HD TV downstairs so I opted to save a few bucks and not bother with the tuner.
This monitor has built in speakers but my desktop has external speakers and a subwoofer so I prefer that sound to small speakers in the monitor itself.
I would buy this monitor again. It is just a great monitor.
