I was thinking this was a GOLDEN item because the reviews are all solid and glowing with greatness. This microphone simply did not work for me. By the looks of it, it appears that I have received a defective microphone – returning it will prove more expensive than just buying another, more respectable microphone. Another flaw is that the picture displayed for this item does not match the item that I received. Maybe I received the wrong microphone from the company.

I was not able to make this product work with the ipod touch (2nd generation), in particular with Skype, which was the main reason I wanted this product. The touch refused to recognize it as a microphone (and it was not a problem with the headphones, as I tried multiple pairs).
It did work fine with the iphone 3G, though I’ve only had it for a few days, so I cannot speak to how long it will last.

Product function as described on web page. Call quality seems better than the headset that came with iPhone. Getting less complaint from listener of not being able to hear me clearly as compared to the iPhone headphone. I would give 3.5 stars out of 5.

I bought this adaptor to use a nicer set of headphones with my iPod Touch 3G. The adapter doesn’t work well. The volume control switch causes the audio to cut in and out intermittently. Meanwhile, when the audio hasn’t been cut out, the quality isn’t even up to snuff to the packaged iPod headphones.. and I’ve tried it with multiple pairs of earphones.
I’d be wary of this thing. Your mileage may vary.
