Jeff Rollins once told me that he used to listen to the music of Tennessee Ernie Ford which his mother loved. Not only is this a wonderful CD, it teaches the younger crowd of Americans that we have a heritage of hymnals and American Music. Frank Sinatra had a marvelous recording of “What Is America To Me.” John Wayne excelled in his CD full of American narrations, in particular “America We Love Her.” Now is the time to recognize this type of musical genre at the is time of year when we recognize our dead heroes of times past. Music helps to sooth the savage beast we all have at times which needs taming. Irritation because of ignorance of others can be lessened by this kind of music.
