  • I’ve read all of Alexandra Ivy’s books in this series. This is another good story that allows the reader to fall into the world of vampires and the women they love. Conde has spent the last century doing penance for changing a woman who was destined to become a powerful member of their society. She, meanwhile, has been moving from city to city completely unaware of her future “responsibilities” and role in the vampire world. Anna finds him in Chicago and travels to confront him about his role in changing her and learns that there are forces in action who want to see her dead. This book has suspense, romance and a little action. I found it wonderfully entertaining and enjoyable.

I will finish the series when it comes out but, it is the same old story with different names from book to book. Maybe have one of the vamps hook up with a human that is a mate and then have to “save” her by changing her. It would be an interesting story since vamps in this series can not remember their past life once they have been changed.

I’d shake up the love scenes too.

Having read two of the previous books in this series, I downloaded this one by mistake on my Kindle. Rather than try to get a credit, I decided to keep it and read it. Mistake. The author obviously phoned this one in without a lot of thought. The writing was haphazard; the storyline weak. She doesn’t develop characters very well. For example, she decided the female lead character would be stubborn and not accepting of what she was being told. So in one scene, Cezar tells Anna that a hunter has locked onto the room and will be here any moment so they must escape immediately. So Anna puts her hands on her hips and tells him that she’s not going anywhere until he explains. Right, that’s a normal reaction to run as fast as you can. I think you can make a character stubborn and questioning without making them stupid.

I will definitely not be reading any more from this author.

This is number four in the “Guardians of Eternity” books. She has another coming out Dec. 09. She is an interesting writer. She is not as crude as other similar books I have read, which was refershing for me. Her books are still erotic but also much more about magic, brotherhood, warriors, mates, and even friendships. There are many, many, many different demons so she will probably be writing several more additions which will be fun to watch the characters evolve and also her writing skills grow.

Thank you for the fun Ms. Ivy.
