mislead. not 2.3 gallon. it is even smaller than those “animal” ones.
I bought one. it worked only 1 hour. then I changed another one, so far so good (used 2 days)

Item is probably great, but returned it for refund without using it, because I must use with standard accessory Crane brand demineralization filter insert. This standard filter is inserted easily into the “animal-shaped” (penguin, frog, etc) Crane humidifiers. However, this filter does not fit at all into this “tear-drop”-shaped Crane humidifier. I called up Crane customer service and rep said, yes, correct, it will not accept the filter. He said there is no other Crane filter made to fit this “tear-drop”-shaped humidifier. I must use a filter with my water quality. Thus, however good the humidifier undoubtedly is, it’s moot because I had to return it for refund simply because there’s no water filter for it.

Right as you read the description of the unit you think “Wow, 2.3 gallons!” Not so fast. It’s a “2.3 gallons output per 24 hours” thing. As in – it can pump out 2.3 gallons in a certain amount of time. The actual capacity is a whooping 0.9 gallons.
Now, that would probably be enough for most people, but I do not like to be “tricked”.
As far as the operation of the unit – I really like it. It is indeed very quiet and it does indeed output a good amount of mist. I am not evaluating a long term use because I just got it.
One star due to misleading advertisement.
More later (on the longevity or lack thereof)

I used this humidifier one time- it flooded the dresser it was sitting on within seconds. I unplugged it, cleaned up the mess and checked the unit over, as per the direction of the manual, and made sure I had securely tightened the gasket where you fill it from. It was tight and the seal was good. I then put the partially filled tank back on the base, and as soon as I turned it on, water was streaming from the unit from all sides.I guess there was a problem with the pressure sensitive part that fills the base to make the steam. I might have gotten a bad unit, but for nearly fifty dollars, that is a ridiculously stupid problem to have. Of course Amazon is picking it up and taking it back, but for now, I have a sick baby with no humidifier. Very inconvenient.

I am on the fence about this product, unfortunately the way that our bedroom is set up, we were only able to turn this to a very low setting to avoid setting off the smoke detector. I have used this a few times, and still woke up with my nostrils feeling very dry, but as stated above had to use a low setting. As a result, I can’t really give this product a fair evaluation.
