The item purchased has not been used as of the present but it has been reviewed at different sites and this is why I could not help but purchase one.

Used this one wwek- and it does not work anymore.
We did nothing to damage/break but now the digital display shows random numbers in brief flashes.
This is a VERY POORLY MADE item – DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
We cannot return this as it is not “UNUSED” anymore – so we just effectively threw away $.
– Some comments suggest we should’ve changed the battery (true we could have gone out and purchased a replacement battery for more $ with unknown results). But since it was used only a few times during the course of ONE WEEK, I stand by the fact that it is not an acceptable “normal” maintenance issue.
– we have since purchased a Taylor 9842 Digital Thermometer which is great!

Right out of the box it didn’t work. I turn it on and it turns off in less than one second. The hold button doesn’t work. The C/F button doesn’t work. UPS picked it up the next day for return

This device works relatively well, measuring the temperature in about 4-5 seconds. This isn’t quite as fast as advertised but not to bad. My only complaint is that the thermometer can get confused with thin pieces of meat. For example- the other night I grilled 1/2″ pork chops. when I tried to measure the temperature, the readout was bouncing back and forth between the outside temperature (50 degrees) the temperature of the meat (around 120) and the “unreadable” temp. of the grill. But again, this thermometer is great for the money and works very well on thicker cuts of meat. My only request would be a longer probe because holding the probe over a 600 degree grill is very uncomfortable! A satisfied customer.

The product description failed to list exactly how quick the response was. This thermometer works in 6-8 seconds, according to the package label. I wanted something faster.
